1. Testing the wear of friction plate of clutch disc.
Measure the depth of rivet head with vernier caliper and check the wear of friction plate. The depth of less than 0.3 mm indicates severe wear and the friction plate should be replaced.
2. Detect the deformation of clutch disc.
Deformation can be checked by the deflection of clutch disc. Measured with a dial gauge at the outer edge of clutch disc, the circular runout of the end face should not be bigger than 0.4 mm. If the circular runout of the end face exceeds 0.4 mm, correct clutch disc with a wrench or replace clutch disc assembly. Otherwise the clutch will shake when starting. Faults such as incomplete clutch separation and difficult shifting.
3. Check the combination clearance between clutch disc spline bushing and the transmission input shaft spline shaft.
If the clearance is too large, it will affect the sound of automatic start-up or sudden change in speed. During the test, place clutch disc spline shaft on the spline of the first shaft of the transmission and turn clutch disc back and forth manually. No significant loosening is allowed. If the gap between the teeth exceeds 0.16 mm, replace the hub of clutch disc or the input shaft of the transmission.
