How often does the clutch need to be replaced?

Nov 29, 2023

The clutch pressure plate and clutch plate should be replaced together. Theoretically, the service life of the clutch pressure plate is more than twice that of the clutch plate, so the clutch plate is installed on the pressure plate. Nowadays, many manufacturers directly install the clutch plate and sell it together with the pressure plate. Both must have the same service life and be replaced together.

The replacement cycle of a car clutch plate is not fixed. Its service life has a lot to do with the driver's driving habits and the road conditions. If it is not used well, it should be replaced after 30,000 to 40,000 kilometers, and if it is not used well, it should be replaced after 100,000 kilometers. No problem either. Considering that the clutch plate is a high-consumable item, it is generally required to be replaced every 5-6 kilometers.

Generally speaking, the manual transmission clutch plate needs to be replaced once every 120,000 kilometers. If you run a lot of kilometers, you can judge the wear and tear of the clutch plate. The way to determine whether it needs to be replaced is: put the car in 1st gear, step on the brake or pull up the handbrake. When starting with the clutch loosened, if the car does not stall suddenly, the clutch plate needs to be replaced.

The clutch generally needs to be replaced around 120,000 kilometers. It is an assembly in the automobile transmission system that is directly connected to the engine and is installed between the engine and the gearbox. The clutch is installed together with the flywheel set of the engine crankshaft and is a component that cuts off and transmits power between the engine and the vehicle's transmission system.
