I. Overview
(1) The clutch consists of five parts: the active part, the driven part, the pressing device, the separating mechanism and the operating mechanism.
(2) The active part includes: flywheel, clutch cover, pressure plate.
(3) The driven part includes: driven disc and driven shaft.
(4) The pressing device includes: a pressing spring.
(5) The separation mechanism includes: separation lever, separation bearing, separation sleeve and separation fork.
Positioning pins: In order to ensure that the clutch is coaxial with the flywheel, three positioning pins are usually used to position the clutch cover and install it on the flywheel.
Housing vents: The clutch engages and disengages frequently when the car starts and shifts. For a more supple engagement, the clutch pedal needs to be lifted slowly. This creates more friction when the clutch engages, and therefore more heat. To dissipate heat, the side of the clutch cover is designed with vents. When the clutch rotates, the hot air is dissipated this time.
Pressure plate: The plane of the pressure plate and the plane of the flywheel together form the friction surface of the driving part, and the plane should be flat and polished. The pressure plate bears a lot of mechanical load and thermal load. In order to prevent its deformation during use, it is often made of high-strength cast iron with high strength and rigidity and good wear resistance and heat resistance.
Diaphragm spring: It not only acts as a compression spring but also acts as a separation lever.
Support ring: A support ring is installed on both sides of the middle of the diaphragm spring, and is clamped on the clutch cover with fixed rivets, which acts as a fulcrum when the diaphragm spring works.
Driven disc: In order to make the clutch combination soft and start smoothly, the driven disc should have axial elasticity. The axial elasticity is mainly realized by the wave spring sheet riveted around the driven steel sheet. The wave spring plate makes a certain gap between the rear lining and the steel plate. When the clutch is engaged, the wave spring deforms to gradually increase the pressing force, which produces axial elasticity, absorbs vibration, and makes the joint compliant.
