The working principle of the magnetic powder clutch in the automatic packaging machine is as follows:
Idle state when not powered:
When the coil of the magnetic powder clutch is not powered, the magnetic powder is evenly dispersed and pressed against the inner wall of the clamp ring under the action of centrifugal force. At this time, the input shaft rotates, but the output shaft does not contact the input shaft and is in an idling state. The torque cannot be transmitted between the two, that is, the power is not transmitted from the input shaft to the output shaft.
Working state after power on:
When the coil is powered, the current passing through the coil will generate a magnetic field. Under the action of the magnetic field, the magnetic powder is arranged along the direction of the magnetic lines of force to form a magnetic chain. These magnetic chains connect the input shaft and the output shaft, so that the output shaft and the input shaft become a rigid body and rotate, thereby realizing the transmission of torque. Moreover, the greater the current passing through the electromagnet coil, the more and stronger the number of magnetic chains, and the greater the ability of the magnetic powder clutch to transmit torque.

Torque control principle:
The excitation current of the magnetic powder clutch and the transmitted torque are basically linear. Therefore, the torque can be easily controlled by simply changing the magnitude of the excitation current. In the automatic packaging machine, according to the different packaging materials, the packaging speed requirements, and the tension requirements of each link in the packaging process, the current input to the magnetic powder clutch coil is adjusted to accurately control the output torque to ensure that the transportation, tensioning, winding and other operations of the packaging material can be carried out accurately and stably.
Overload protection function:
When an abnormal situation occurs during the operation of the packaging machine, resulting in torque overload, the magnetic powder clutch will automatically enter the slip state. In the slip state, relative sliding will occur between the input shaft and the output shaft, thereby avoiding damage to the equipment caused by overload and playing the role of overload protection.
