Heavy truck clutch plate structure and inspection

Oct 26, 2022

1. Structure and working principle of heavy truck clutch plate

The clutch plates of heavy trucks are located in the flywheel housing between the engine and transmission. The clutch plate assembly is screwed to the rear plane of the flywheel. The output shaft of the clutch plate is the input shaft of the gearbox.

During heavy-duty truck driving, the driver can depress or release the clutch pedal as needed to temporarily disengage and gradually engage the engine from the transmission, thereby cutting off or transmitting the power input from the engine to the transmission.

The clutch plate is a common component in mechanical transmission, which can be disengaged or engaged at any time. Its basic requirements are smooth engagement, rapid and complete separation; easy adjustment and maintenance;

Small size; small mass; good wear resistance and sufficient heat dissipation capacity; easy and labor-saving operation, commonly used are divided into two types: tooth type and friction type.

2. Heavy truck clutch plates need daily inspection

Nowadays, the application of heavy trucks is more and more common, and people use more and more clutch plates for heavy trucks, so there are more and more manufacturers producing this product. To become popular, manufacturers must consider whether the quality of the product has improved. The following will introduce you to the knowledge of heavy truck clutch plates.

When the clutch plate of heavy truck is in use, it is necessary to check the free stroke of the clutch plate. If there is a problem, it is necessary to consider whether the travel distance exceeds the limit, and check whether the height of the release lever is consistent and whether it is too low.

Turn the undercarriage release fork so that the front end of the release bearing lightly touches the inner end face of the release lever, and rotate the clutch plate to check.

If the inner end of the release lever cannot contact the release bearing at the same time, the height of the release lever is inconsistent and should be adjusted. If the split rod height is the same but the split rod is still incomplete, you need to check the split rod height.

Adjust the release lever to the same height. If it can be completely separated, it means that the original factory adjustment is improper or the wear is too heavy. After the release lever is adjusted, the free travel of the car clutch plate must be readjusted.

If the above adjustment is normal, but the separation is still not complete, you need to remove the clutch plate, check whether the driven plate is installed backwards, whether the axial movement is difficult, whether the main and driven plates are warped, whether the release lever is loose, and whether the floating pin is loose. Does it fall off.

The above knowledge about heavy truck clutch plates is all here. With the continuous development of modern technology, it is very important for the application of heavy trucks, so this product is also very important.
